I have to say that the music (by Mark Knopfler) in this scene just makes the whole thing for me. Inconceivable!??. Prenses elif gelin barbie. This scene is, without a doubt, one of the most fun sword fights ever put to film. It"s nowhere near realistic and the actors are so obviously Flynning but it"s very very good Flynning. "The Princess Bride" is different from your usual fantasy film. It"s not as cute as Star Wars or as meaningful as Lord of the Rings. It"s just made to entertain you. From the fast, snappy screen-play to the great performance from Mandy Patinkin, this defines good fantasy.
The story focuses on two departed loved ones: Westley (Cary Ewles) a farmer boy supposedly killed by pirates and Buttercup (Robin Wright Penn) a dim witted girl now being forced to marry Prince Humperdink (Chris Sarandon. Westley returns to take his love back from the evil Prince, and he must face great odds and villains like Count Rugen (Christopher Guest) to do so.
Helping him is giant Fezzik (Andre the Giant) and vengeful Spainard Indigo Montoya (Mandy Patinkin. Patinkin plays Montoya passionately and comedicly, making him the most interesting character in the movie.
All in all, The Princess Bride never lets you down. Great movie, 9/10.

Its like theyre taunting the audience- “André is hard enough to understand to begin with, so lets have him speak the majority of his lines in this scene while being choked!”. There"s just one classic quote, and it"s the whole movie

Princess glinda from wizard of oz fanfic. This movie has more class in this one scene that most movies could even hope to muster in their entire run time. If he did the operation like the Big Show did he would still be alive ??. The suggested idea of a remake always makes me think of this scene. The magic of this scene with these actors is unlikely to be replicated, and a cg enhanced take on this would most likely ruin it altogether.
